Write an essay on either of the two following topics, using material from course readings as appropriate.

  1. Schoen's papers continue to be cited in the archival scientific literature. Who is doing this, and why?
  2. Comment on subsequent careers of any of the following people mentioned in Plastic Fantastic: Cherry Murray, Robert Cava, Lydia Sohn, Bertram Batlogg, Christian Kloc, Bob Willett - or others of your choice.
